11 tips to avoid injuries in musicians

Musicians spend many hours practicing on our instrument. If we don´t practice this pus in the correct way, we could have big physical problems.

Next, I leave you some tips to avoid physical problems. Special thanks to Arts Institution of Physiology and Mecicine of Terrasa.
  • Do not increasethe practice hours. (20 minutes maximum per day)
  • Play slow motionand increase the difficulty progressively.
  • Do not becomeobsessive with repeating a difficult musical passage. look for alternatives.
  • Make breaksbetween 5 to 10 minutes per half an hour. You can stretching your body.
  • Hold a correctposition while you are on foot, sitting...
  • Work in optimumconditions of lights, noises and temperature.
  • Respect thedream and eating hours.
  • Work outavoiding the contact sports. You can eliminate tensions.
  • Do not play withpain. If you have pain, stop playing and doing soft stretching.
  • Streatching afterand before playing. You have to take into account:
- Do not feel pain, just tension.

- Hold every stretching between 20-30 seconds.

- Do not bounce.

- You can do it repeatedly.
